Today, I sent a letter to the NJ Dept. of Environmental Protection opposing the latest privatization scheme in Liberty State Park. This time the State wants to turn 21-acres of urban wilderness into three holes on the most exclusive golf course in the world (no exaggeration). The core of my argument: "Caven Point should remain what it is: a public space. Any changes to it should be accessible to the general public. Leasing away public land so only the richest of the rich can use it is short-sighted, ill-conceived, and just plain wrong."

If you oppose this privatization scheme, make your voice heard by emailing officeofleases@dep.nj.gov "to urge the DEP to reject the Liberty National Golf Course proposal to lease away the LSP Caven Point Natural Area."
